Challenge Day 1: Jelly Sandwich

Yay! So some fellow bloggers and I were chatting on Twitter and decided it would be fun to do a challenge! There are many different challenges out there but since this is our first, we wanted something short. This 7 day challenge we came up with by throwing out ideas of our fav manicures. We decided on our favorite 7 and voila! our new and awesome 7 Day Challenge! We will be posting every other day starting today, so day 2 of the challenge will be posted on Wednesday May, 16 and so on.

Day 1 will start off with the lovely Jelly Sandwich. Now for those of you who don't know, a Jelly sandwich is a manicure where a glitter is 'sandwiched' between layers of jelly polish. This technique creates a look like no other. There are endless possibilities when it comes to layering polish.

For my jelly sandwich, I wanted to do something different. I don't own many chunky glitters so my options for today's challenge were limited. I was playing around with my over coat polishes and ended up with flakies as the 'jelly' in my sandwich. I like this manicure more every time I look at it. I know it's not your classic jelly sandwich but I thought it was neat. ;) Essie Shine of the Times was the perfect polish for this because it's such a dense flakie, not to mention it fits with the color of the jelly perfectly. I used Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro Sunset Orange.

1 coat Sunset Orange. 1 coat Shine of the Times. 2 coats Sunset Orange. Seche.
