Pretty and Polished Superstorm

Today I have some special polishes to show you. As we all know, Huricane Sandy reeked havoc on the upper east coast leaving devastation in her path. It's unfortunate this happened, leaving people homeless with no where to turn.

Chels at Pretty and Polished decided to make 15 bottles of a polish that was named Superstorm. She held a silent auction where anyone could submit a bid for one of the 15 bottles. I was lucky enough to be one of the 15 highest bidders. I think Chels did such a great thing by doing this for the Sandy relief. Between me and the 14 other bidders, almost $600 was donated. I am proud to say I donated to the relief effort.

Susperstorm is a color shifting polish that shows mostly green. The pink side is very evident in the bottle. It's visible on the nail but I was unable to capture it in photo. It is also holographic. Shown below is two coats of Superstorm with no topcoat.

You can see the pink slightly below.

The next three polishes are customs that were included with Superstorm.

 The left is China Glaze Grape pop on it's own, and the right is with the custom glitter.

Although it's unfortunate these particular polishes aren't available, you can purchase Pretty and Polished Lacquer's in her Etsy shop and on Llarowe.

Spectraflair Topcoat

Hello! I just wanted to show some pics of a spectraflair overcoat I made! Featured over Revlon Naughty with topcoat.

I wish I had a better camera and photograpghy skills because this doesn't touch how awesome this was in person. I almost had the duochrome and holo going on which was stunning!

Sally Hansen Gem Crush Glitz Gal

I Love glitter. I think there is a part of all of us polish lovers that has a soft spot for glitter of some sort. I also love me a dark grey shade. Glitz Gal is seriously an awesome color. 

I had a few of awful breaks in the last week so I was forced to file down to nubbins and go round. I haven't decided if I like it yet. I will probably end up going back square when they grow out.

2 coats Glitz Gal. I coat Gelous. Seche

Sally Hansen Gem Crush Lady Luck

Damn this no/low buy whatever it is! I seriously have a problem and I am openly admitting to it now. My name is Megan and I am an addict. My problem is glitter. So pretty, so yummy, so HOLO! love this polish. Admitting you have a problem is the first step right?

So I ended up with three of the Gem Crush polishes by Sally Hansen. The other two I hope to show you soon. :) Lady luck is a dense micro glitter with small holographic hexies.

2 thick coats Lady Luck. Seche.

China Glaze Atlantis

GLITTER! China Glaze Atlantis! This holographic glitter suspended in a green jelly base is so sparkly and spectacular.. I was fortunate to have done this mani the night before a very nice and sunny day so my nails sparkled all over the place! It got the attention of everyone which I love because there is nothing better than someone asking, "Thats pretty, what color is that?"

1 coat ChG Four Leaf Clover. 2 coats Atlantis. 1 coat Gelous. 1 coat Seche.

Nail Mail!

So Today I got my order from Dandy Nails Blog Sale which you can check out here. I got some wonderful polishes from her. I encourage you all to check out her blog, she is so nice!

I also went to Walgreens with the intension of getting Party of 5 Glitters from WNW for a jelly sandwich. I ended up with that and 2 additional polishes! So much for a no buy right?

Franken Black Holo

FRANKEN! I have been so wanting some serious holo in my life that I am resorting to making them myself! I can't afford to spend the cash for China Glaze OMG or Gosh holo as much as I would love it. So I decided to get some Spectraflair pigment and see what I come up with! This franken, if you wanna call it a franken is just cheap wet n wild black LOADED with holo pigment. I mean Loaded, this polish looks charcoal in the shade. But in the sun boy look out!

Layering with For Audrey and Glitter!

So all day I was thinking that I needed 'a whole glitter mess on my nails'..so I decided I needed to take many glitters I had and put them on top of a color that I haven't used in a while. I went through my polishes and For Audrey stood out to me as a good base. I wanted it to be super sparkly so I layered OPI Blue Moon Lagoon over China Glaze For Audrey.

 I then layered multiple glitter polishes on top of this base to create the finished look.

I actually wore this mani for 2 full days, which is rare these days! I loved the sparkle!

Homemade Polish! Red Holo :) Yum

So I was drooling over the Hits No Olimpo Collection which consists of 12 outrageously holographic shades that are to die for. I was going to purchase them but shipping to the US also is outrageous...I will be purchasing them, just not at the moment.

This made me remember that I got some spectraflair pigment for Christmas and I could try and make a holo polish myself. I ended up with this! I just added a whole bunch of the pigment to sa no name red polish that I added some yellow and orange to to make it brighter.. Not Hits Holo but it still looks super sparkly!

I wished the pics did it justice. I will revisit when it is summer and sunny so they will really shine!
