Influenster Review: SoyJoy Bar

Today I am reviewing the Blueberry SoyJoy bar for you. I had mentioned in my Vox Box Opening post that I was not a fan of blueberry. This bar MADE me a blueberry fan! I was sitting watching t.v. one night and decided to replace my evening snack with this bar. When I opened the packaging, the smell immediately made my mouth water. I smelled baked blueberries and yumminess!

The bar was a bit on the dry side, but it worked with the flavors. It was loaded with texture which I like. There was a slight crunch along with the lovely taste of blueberry. It was kind of like a bread loaded with fruit and nuts.

I have to say that I was very much impressed with this product, even with my hesitancy because of the blueberry flavor. I will be purchasing this again and I can't wait to see what other flavors SoyJoy has to offer!

Here is the Nutritional Information.

More Influenster products coming for review soon!

I recieved the above mentioned product for review by Influenster.

Revlon Naughty by itself.

7 Day Challenge: Water Marble

Who Hoo! Day 7 of the challenge is finally here! I wanted to do this mani for a long time! When I get an idea I usually try it out on a swatch-cicle to see if my vision translates to the nail. This one I did a while back and it has been staring at me ever since. What a perfect time to do it!

I marbled China Glaze Grape Pop and WNW Black creme. I topped it off with FingerPaints Flecked. Love!

These lovely ladies marbled today too ;)

OPI Just Spotted the Lizard

To say I came late to the OPI SpiderMan Collection Party would be an understatement. Either way I am here and have a lovely polish to show you today. OPI Just Spotted the Lizard is a gold/green duochrome polish that is a dead on dupe for Chanel's Peridot. I knew I would like this polish even before I put it on. However the fact that I wore it for almost 5 days I knew it was a keeper! I absolutely am falling in love with duochromes and this one is no exception. I LOVE this polish. I think I need a back up. :)

2 coats Just Spotted the Lizard. Seche.

That green is my fav :)

Challenge Day 6: Forever Mani

You may have seen this polish in my haul post a few weeks back. This lovely is China Glaze Marry A Millionaire. I got this as a gift from Ave at Polish Pixelle! I can't thank her enough for this polish because it has turned out to be one of my favorites! I actually had something else in mind for my forever mani but I loved this too much!

This polish is a perfect mix of purple, yellow and green bar glitters along with tiny purple hexies.  I wore this over one coat of WNW Megalast On a Trip. This glitter is dense so it could easily be worn alone.

1 coat On a Trip. 1 coat Marry A Millionaire. Seche.

Check out what the other ladies are wearing forever ;)

7 Day Challenge Day 5: Favorite Effect

I had to think about this part of the challenge for quite a while. I had a few ideas that I wasn't to excited about but I didn't have any other options. I pulled up my blogger feed one morning to see that gradient nails went viral. I feel like it happened so fast! Next thing you know, gradients of all colors of the rainbow are everywhere! I love it! But let me tell you, it's not easy. I spent a long time practicing with many colors before I came up with a gradient that I liked.

So I started this manicure with two coats of China Glaze Agent Lanvender, which I must say is lovely on its own. I let that COMPLETELY dry before I started sponging with China Glaze Grape Pop. I used the widely used sponging technique shown by The Nailasaurus. The only difference is that I brushed the polish directly onto the sponge instead of blending them. My gradient isn't as 'flowy' for this reason. Either way, for my first try I think it turned out pretty good! I can't wait to practice and do gradients with bright summer colors! I topped off my manicure with Seche and there you go. I hope you like!

Nail Survey: A Closer Look into My Polish Life!

I got this survey from Embellished Nails.
Copy and paste it onto your blog and fill it out too!

How many polishes do you have in your stash?
I counted last week and I was at 230, Probably up to 240 now!

Which brand do you own the most of?
China Glaze.

What colors do you own the most of?
I have a lot of Purple. Teal is a growing trend in my collection also.

Do you have a color/texture you do not own?
I only own two yellows! I am extremely limited on texture also, I think I have one true matte polish and crackle.

What's the one polish you always pick up to lift your spirits?
China Glaze Pure Torture. Fabulous Orange-Red Jelly. So bright and sexy.

What polish do you keep looking at and wondering why you haven't gotten rid of it yet?
Some really old Sally Hansen polishes. I don't even know if they open still!

Franken any? or I'm nervous to try it?

Yes! I have made 10 or 15 polishes. Some I like, some I don't. It's definitely something you learn over time.

Do you franken for new/original polish ideas or franken for polish you won't be able to own?I mostly franken things I see online and like. Some of the time it ends up being totally different than my muse.

Go-to Base Coat?
Revlon

Go-to Top Coat?
Seche. Eager to try Poshe though.

What's your sexiest polish?
I love a dark purple. I would have to say out of my stash, China Glaze Crimson.

Stamping vs Free Hand?
I like both, I am not the greatest at free hand so I would have to say stamping!

Bling me, baby? or No bling for me, please!
Bling in terms of glitter, yes! I am not really into rhinestones though.

I consider my nails basically nekkid if they don' t have some kind of design?
No, I have been really into a solid mani lately. I am also a big fan of half moon mani.

My favorite plate/tool/technique?
I am using my dotting tool a lot more lately but at the moment I think my favorite would have to the the sponging gradient technique.

What I haven't tried and want to within the month?
Ikat nails! They look so great and I hope to try them on myself soon.

The one elusive polish you want and can't seem to get?
Zoya Lotus, I am lemming this like the world is ending tomorrow and I can't manage to get my hands on it!

What was the last nail related thing you bought?
Ozotic 532 <3

How many nail related hauls have you bought in the last 7 days (on-line/in-person)?
2. Unless you count swapping. Then its like 7. ;)

If you've ever been on a no-buy, how long did it last? Is that what you planned?
I went on a no-buy and it lasted for 1 week. Then I started buy polish but much less than I did before (Only clearance and really killer deals). It was not what I planned but who was I kidding, there is no way I can go WITHOUT buying polish! ;)

(and one question to grow on) Hobby? Addiction? Compulsion? Passing Fancy? Love?I would say an Addicting Hobby ;)

Influenster Vox Box Opening

Yay! My second Vox Box! I was so excited when I got an email about a month ago saying I had been selected for the May Box! I wanted to give a sneak peak of the items I recieved in my box! Lets take a look at some of the goodies in the May box shall we?

A shot of all of the products in the box right after I opened!

In every box Influenster sends a card that describes each product in the box.

The first product is a concealer by SheerCOVER. I got the shade Light/Medium. I am not very educated when it comes to makeup but I am excited to use this. Two shades in one product excites me because it will be easy to blend to match my skin tone.

Next is a trial/travel size of Aveeno Active Naturals Daily Moisturizing Body Wash with Nourishing Oatmeal. I am a HUGE Fan of Aveeno so I am going to start using this right away! The scent is very clean and fresh but delicate.

Next up is Chapstick LipSHIELD 365. I think I am most excited for this product! I use chapstick everyday as it is, so I am stoked to see what this new product has to offer.

Ahh, Salon Effects! I have seen these around for months now and have yet to try them! I am excited to see how these wear with my job.

Along with the Salon Effects came a pamphlet advertising the real nail polish strip designs they offer. On the back side is a quick 3 step tutorial on how to apply them.

This product took me by surprise when I grabbed it from the box! It is Bath and Body Works FULL SIZE body spray in the scent Moonlight Path. 8 fl. oz.

The last product on the card is a SoyJoy Baked Whole Soy & Fruit Bar in Blueberry. Now I will say I am not a fan of blueberry however I am very excited to eat this! This time of year always makes me health conscience; as I am trying to change my eating habits. I'll get back to you on this one right away. ;)

The extra in the box was this! Dr. Scholls For Her Ball of Foot cushions. These are designed for heals specifically to help prevent pain in the ball of the foot. I don't wear heels that much but these give me a reason to dress it up a little for a night out with the hubby. :)

I am SO excited for all of these products and I hope you are too! These products were I will be reviewing these products over the next few weeks so stay tuned!

These Products were sent to me by Influenster for my honest review.

Challenge Day 3: Dotting Tool

Don't you love it when a polish you haven't seen in a while speaks to you? Well I have found my long lost love, Orly Rock the World. I was swatching/playing around with polish and decided to try this baby on. Naturally I loved it, like I did in the past. I thought, much like Teal of Fortune, that this polish would benefit from some gold in it's life.

Day 3 of this challenge is the Dotting tool. There are so many ways you can use a dotting tool to manipulate polish into greatness. However, I decided to just do classic 'dots'. I used both ends of my dotting tool and a toothpick to make the gradient of dots.

2 coats Rock the World. Dotted on Color Club Gingerbread Man.

Check out some other dotting tool mani's here.

Challenge Day 2: A 'Classic'

So here we are on day 2 of this lovely challenge. :) I hope you all enjoyed the first day's manicure. Today's challenge is a 'classic.' My thoughts were at first to do a modern twist on a french manicure. Then I remembered how much I just don't like them. ha ha On myself anyways. Then I was convinced I was going to do a really cool half moon design maybe using stamping plates. My plan only changed when I was looking at my intrieds and saw Wet n Wild Fast Dry Teal Of Fortune. I was just twirling the bottle under the light, basking in its glass flecky-ness, when I said out loud how great the golden flecks were.

It all clicked after that point. I had never done a ruffian manicure before and thought these two colors would make it really pop. I know it's not perfect but for my first go at it, I think I did alright!

2 coats Color Club Gingerbread Man. 2 coats Teal of Fortune. Seche.

Aren't those gold flecks so yummy? :) Make sure you check out what the girls did for their Classic!
