Pretty and Polished Superstorm

Today I have some special polishes to show you. As we all know, Huricane Sandy reeked havoc on the upper east coast leaving devastation in her path. It's unfortunate this happened, leaving people homeless with no where to turn.

Chels at Pretty and Polished decided to make 15 bottles of a polish that was named Superstorm. She held a silent auction where anyone could submit a bid for one of the 15 bottles. I was lucky enough to be one of the 15 highest bidders. I think Chels did such a great thing by doing this for the Sandy relief. Between me and the 14 other bidders, almost $600 was donated. I am proud to say I donated to the relief effort.

Susperstorm is a color shifting polish that shows mostly green. The pink side is very evident in the bottle. It's visible on the nail but I was unable to capture it in photo. It is also holographic. Shown below is two coats of Superstorm with no topcoat.

You can see the pink slightly below.
The next three polishes are customs that were included with Superstorm.

The left is China Glaze Grape pop on it's own, and the right is with the custom glitter.
Although it's unfortunate these particular polishes aren't available, you can purchase Pretty and Polished Lacquer's in her Etsy shop and on Llarowe.

Untried 13: Pretty and Polished Party on my Yacht

Oh Boy! Today my untried is EPICCC! I seriously have been lemming this polish since it came out at the beginning of 2012. Party on my Yacht is a lovely polish by Pretty and Polished that includes small green, purple, pink and yellow glitters with a stray blue bar glitter. This polish is so special and unique, I feel like all polish lovers should have this polish in their stash. I love this polish and I know this is not healthy but I seriously look at my nails and want to eat the polish! ;)

The effect is really neat, I creates it's own jelly sandwich without needing to layer! Chels, the owner of Pretty and Polished sells her polishes on Etsy. She also recently made an agreement with Llarowe to sell her polished on their site. You can also check out Chels' Blog for updates regarding the brand.

I have pictured below 3 coats of Party on my Yacht with no topcoat.

HAD to show you the random blue bar glitter on my thumb! and the bottle shot makes me want to grab a spoon. ;)

Stay tuned for more Pretty and Polished as I got my order from Chels this week!

Untried 12: Darling Diva Polish Ringer

Now here is a polish! This polish kinda took the community by storm. Darling Diva Polish Ringer is a dupe for the infamous Max Factor Fantasy Fire. Very sought after, very happy I got this!

I have pictured below Ringer over a base of Revlon Royal. I don't even know what to say about this polish except for the fact that it is beautiful and I love it. :) No topcoat in the pictures below.

Untried 10: KBShimmer Lilac Dreams

Another Indie for you today! I have Lilac Dreams from KBShimmer. I LOVE this polish way more than I thought I would. This glitter could easily be opaque in a few coats but I layered one coat over a base of OPI Dutch Ya Just Love OPI? This shade of purple is great and definitely under represented in my collection. The blue glitters in this polish are also holographic which makes this polish even more special. You can only see it a little in the pics but this polish is stunning even without the holo!

What's up tomorrow?

Untried 9: Candeo Colors Sprouse

For the next untried I have a treat for you! Another Indie! Ahh, don't you just love them? I Do! Candeo Colors Sprouse is a black and white glitter with a lil' blue thrown in. I love this combo and the blue makes it unique from all of the black and white glitters out there.

I have one coat of Sprouse over my previous untried, Zoya Lola.

This polish solidifies the fact that I NEED more Candeo. Period.

Untried 6: Elixir Lacquers Bad Kitty

Hello all! Today I have an extra special post for you. I was on Twitter some time ago when Nicole from Nail Polish Wars and Elixir Lacquers posted that 20 bottles of Bad Kitty were going on sale! Bad Kitty for those of you that don't know is a limited edition lacquer that has been sold in VERY small quanitites every now and then. There aren't many bottles of this polish to go around so when she announced I was torn. I really wanted it but I know I need to be mindful of spending.

As you probably guessed I ended up with a bottle of my very own. I am so excited about this polish and I hope you enjoy it as much as I am. :) This lovely is a sheer purple polish with TONS and I mean tons of blue shimmer. It has so much shimmer, it's borderline duochrome.  For this swatch I started with one coat of WNW On a Trip and 2 coats of Bad Kitty, No top coat.

I greatly look forward to trying more Elixir Lacquers in the future. If you have any, I'd love to see and read about them :)

Pretty and Polished Midnight Rider

If any of you lovely readers haven't already checked out PrettynLacquer's etsy shop, you should probably go there like now, after looking at these pics of course! Chels creates the most wonderful franken polishes that are to die for. You can check out her blog here.

So today the polish I have for you is Midnight Rider. This lovely purple jelly base is packed with small purple and red glitter along with larger red and purple/pink hexies and square glitters. Swatched on its own it was not completely opaque so I chose to layer. There are a lot of pictures I know but look at it! Its beautiful!

2 coats China Glaze Loft-y Ambitions. 1 coat Midnight Rider. Seche.

Pretty and Polished Born Again Swatch :) [Pic Heavy]

Hello Hello! I am SO excited about today's post! Last week I ordered from the PrettyandPolished Etsy shop which is run by a fellow blogger! You can check out her Etsy shop here and her blog here. I ordered three mini's to get my feet wet into the indie polish trend. I have to say I am already convinced to go back for more!

This is polish number 1 and I am LOVING it. Born Again is a blue shimmer jelly with four sizes of blue, pink, purple and multi colored hexies. This makes for a gorgeous layering polish or a stand alone. For these shots I layered Born Again over a BonBon blue shimmer (shown below). This is the closest color I own to the base of Born Again and I wanted to layer to save the precious liquid. :)

1 coat Blue Shimmer. 2 generous coats Born Again. Seche.

There are so many pics to try and capture the wondrous beauty that is Born Again. I am already thinking about what color I want to layer this over next time I wear it! Hope you like!
