Quick post for you this evening. I have the classic China Glaze For Audrey. This tiffany blue shade is a must have in my opinion. It's not too blue and it's not too green. It's also perfect for the spring!

Needle Drag Nail Art

Today I have a nail art technique for you. Needle drag is a way to create an interesting manicure thats cute and super easy. I have done this technique before in a slightly different way. My nails looked completely different than these below. It's easy to make your nails look however you want!

For this design I applied one coat of Revlon Black with Envy. I let that dry and applied another thicker coat. While that is wet I took Pure Ice Platinum and ran the brush lightly down the middle of my nail. This made a small to medium stripe of white polish. I then took a toothpick and drew lines in the polish horizontally to the stripe. I drew the lines in opposite directions. These steps need to be done quickly so the white polish drags nicely.

There you have it! An easy and awesome manicure! I hope you like.

OPI Austin-tatious Turquoise

Hello again! I first want to say that I know I have been neglecting Let There Be Lacquer lately. These past few weeks have been so hectic with the end of the semester, my new job and my wedding that I have only been blogging when I get a free minute. I hope to be back to posting more frequently when school is out for summer!

Today I have an OPI for you from the Texas Collection. Austin-tatious Turquoise is a lovely teal with lots of sparkle! It has a slight glass fleck finish which is becoming a favorite of mine! The only thing I was not loving about this polish is that it pulled away from my tips. In the pictures below there are 3 coats and it just didn't want to cover my free edge. Regardless I wrapped my tips with top coat and I ended up wearing this for 5 days! Can you believe it! 5 DAYS! I never go that long with the same mani but I was so busy I actually didn't want to repaint them. Either way, this shade is so great, it's one of my favorites.
(I think I say that about all shades!?! ha ha)

3 coats Austin-tatious Turquoise. Seche.

Now that I look at the last photo, it looks like a fourth coat wouldn't have hurt. What do you think?

China Glaze Touch of Glamour

So today I have yet another China Glaze polish for you! From the 'vault' if you will, is China Glaze Touch of Glamour. A very light yellow nude shimmer. My skin tone is so pale, this polish looked more nude than it would on someone with darker skin. The top photo looks more yellow and the other two make the polish look more nude. I was kinda sad when I was putting this on because I have had it for about six months and it has already evaporated a lot. It got clumpy, not to the point of misery, but it was definitely difficult to work with. I bought it online and noticed that it has an old label so it was probably hanging out in storage for a while. Either way, nothing a little polish thinner can't fix!

I decided to wear this color for my wedding because it is simple and pretty. I didn't want to wear white nails so I figured this would be a good choice.

2 coats Touch of Glamour. Seche.

Hope you like :) I'm still on the hunt for a good nude creme. Any suggestions?

OPI The Color to Watch

Ugh I am such a sucker for purple! I don't wear it enough! This lovely by OPI is The Color to Watch which, I believe is from the Swiss Collection. There is so much depth to this lacquer, silver sparkle and it looked dangerously close to a duochrome in the bottle. Sadly it didn't translate to the nail but still its a stunning polish.

2 coats The Color to Watch. Seche.

Do you like purple polish? What is your favorite color to wear?

Sally Hansen Gem Crush Lady Luck

Damn this no/low buy whatever it is! I seriously have a problem and I am openly admitting to it now. My name is Megan and I am an addict. My problem is glitter. So pretty, so yummy, so HOLO! love this polish. Admitting you have a problem is the first step right?

So I ended up with three of the Gem Crush polishes by Sally Hansen. The other two I hope to show you soon. :) Lady luck is a dense micro glitter with small holographic hexies.

2 thick coats Lady Luck. Seche.

Obviously this beauty is a horror to photograph. Blurry pics above are meant to showcase the holo :) I hope you like! Stay tuned for two more Gem Crush polishes!

Wet n' Wild Rain Check

So today I have this lovely for you. A dusty blue that is on the verge of being metallic. Not to much though. I have had this polish forever! I remember when I was in high school and all of my polish and supplies fit in one shoebox tote! This polish and I go way back! Surprisingly the formula is still great, its obviously slightly more thick than a new one would be, but its not clumpy or drying out at all.

2 coats Rain Check.

Hope you like :)

Nails Inc. Trafalgar Square

I think this is one of my oldest untrieds! I bought this when magnetics were the new thing and Nails Inc. was the only company that made them. I paid full price for this baby which makes me laugh now because of the affordability of magnetic polishes now.

Not much to say, the magnet worked really well. Although I wished I had worn undies for this polish.

2 thick coats Trafalgar Square. Magnet applied.

CND Effects Sapphire Sparkle

Love this. Loft-y ambitions on its own is beautiful. Dark maroon with a hint of shimmer. Not may words for this one...just yum..

CND Effects in Sapphire Sparkle is so so so pretty its a dense fine glitter that shines bright blue and has a hint of purple in the light. The play on these three colors together is magic.

2 coats Loft-y Ambitions. 1 coat Sapphire Sparkle.

Loft-y Ambitions alone. Love this color even by itself.

Stunning, one of my favorite combo's to date!

Wet n' Wild Shy

Nude? Beige? Cream? I don't know! This is another one of those polishes that goes all the way back to the shoebox tote! I like this color a lot although I am now preferring cremes to this finish. It's a bit streaky, but like Rain Check in the previous post the formula is still great!

2 coats Shy.

Any suggestions for a good nude creme?

Water Marble with Ugly Colors

So I figured I was overdue for a water marble so I went to the drawer. I thought pastel for Spring or vibrant to bring in the nice weather...then I thought....ugly colors. We all have them, and some of us don't know why. I feel like my preference in polish is changing as time goes on and I am oddly attracted to the 'ugly' colors.

I used China Glaze Trendsetter and Borghese Euro Green for this marble. I used room temperature water in a shot glass I always use for marbling. I applied one coat of Trendsetter to my nails before marbling to make the colors more opaque. Instead of the norm tape I have been using vaseline on my cuticle and skin. The polish wipes away very easily and I find it easier than taping. I create my design with a toothpick, cleaning it every other swipe in the polish to keep it clean.

Hope you like my ugly mani!

Revlon Starry Pink

So today I have more chunky glitter! I managed to pick up this baby on clearance. This polish is a light pink jelly loaded with small silver glitter and larger silver hexies. It actually has a LOT more hexies than I thought.

3 coats Starry Pink. Seche.

Hope you like! I hope to snag Blue Mosaic next!
